Chronological Synchronisation of the Irish Annals |

Welcome to this homepage which provides access to the tables which synchronise the various collections of the Irish annals in order to obtain a cogent chronology for them all. The most useful overall introduction to this material is my paper, 'The Chronology of the Irish annals' published in the Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, 98C(1998)pp.203-255, to which the tables presented here provide a further appendix, as is discussed in pp. 229-239 of that paper. A more detailed introduction to the tables is provided below. |

The tables are divided into a series of sub-tables based upon the lacunae in the manuscripts, which are further subdivided into smaller units of approximately 70K bytes in order to facilitate their downloading across the Web and their on-going maintenance. They may be viewed ONLINE as follows: |
