3BA4: Creating/Loading a Cell

Creating a new Cell

  1. Select either File -> Cell -> Create from the main menu, or "Create" in the "Cell" section of the "Session" palette.
  2. Under "Cell Name" enter the desired name. The "Navigator" button can be used to ensure you are at the right location.
  3. Under "Process" enter the pathname of the Process, or use the "Navigator" button to locate it
    (current location: /users/Public/BAICT/3BA4/3BA4-CMOS ).
  4. Under "Design Rules" enter the location of the design rules file you intend to use.
    (current rules file: /users/Public/BAICT/3BA4/3BA4-rules.txt)
  5. Leave "Attach Library" blank.
  6. Under "Angle Mode" use Ninety or Forty-Five, as required
  7. Under "Cell Type" use Block
  8. Ensure Connectivity is set to "No connectivity"
  9. Click on "Ok" or type RETURN.

Loading an existing Cell

  1. Select either File -> Cell -> Open from the main menu, or "Open" in the "Cell" section of the "Session" palette.
  2. Enter the Cell Name in the space provided, or use the "Navigator" button to find your Cell.
  3. Under "Access", ensure that "Edit" is chosen, and not "Read Only".
  4. Click on "Ok" or type RETURN.

Closing a Cell (without exiting IC Station)

Simplest way: Double-click on top-left corner of Cell window.
