Spectrascribe Mk.2
An improved dual-channel realtime time-compression spectrum analyser for
Doppler-shifted ultrasound from blood vessels.
This was an integrated unit consisting of :
a dual-channel real-time spectrum analyser,
a variable-persistence storage display,
a variable-speed fibre-optic chart recorder and
a cassette recorder (controlled by an Intel i4040 !).
From left to right, the input anti-aliasing, time-compression memory,
RF detector, swept VCO and display multiplexer modules of the spectrum
analyser are shown below.
This work was done jointly with Dr.M.G.Taylor in Prof.R.G.Gosling's Blood Flow Group
at the Physics Dept., Guy's Hospital Medical School, London,
and was funded by the Wellcome Trust.
These diagnostic systems were manufactured by BOC Medishield.
